Chuck Hunter

Chuck Hunter is entering his 5th year as the Head Women’s Volleyball coach at Southwestern College. He has won the West region coach of the year three times (2003, 2004 and 2006). Prior to coaching at Southwestern he was the head coach at Warner Pacific College in Portland Oregon where he coached for 3 years. He enjoys playing sports, hanging out with his family, and being outdoors with is boys. He has a wife (Nicole Hunter) and 4 children (Quinn, Wesley, Anna and Jane).

Amanda Burgmann

This is Coach Burgmann’s second year with the Southwestern volleyball team. She graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, in the fall of 2004 with a double major in English Literature and Communications. While attending Canyon, Burgmann played four years on the varsity volleyball team, earning honors as an NCAA First Team All-Conference player and breaking two school records. Upon graduating, she became the head coach for Canyon’s JV volleyball program for two years while completing her M.Ed in Secondary Education.

Along with coaching at Southwestern, Coach Burgmann is also the college’s Director of Residence Life and is an adjunct English professor. She and her husband of three years, Rob, live on campus with the students. They just had their first child, Ethan Philip Burgmann, in May of 2007.

Coach Burgmann is passionate about the game and loves to push her players spiritually, physically and competitively. Her life goal and verse is Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at is with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” This is her goal for every player she coaches – that they will learn to love the Lord more fully through giving everything they have out on the court.
