Rick Roth- Head Coach Rick Roth is in his fourth year at Southwestern. Rick is a native of Arizona having grown up in Scottsdale and is a graduate of Phoenix Christian High School. Coach Roth attended The Master's College (formerly Los Angeles Baptist College), where he was a four year letterman in basketball and earned a B.A. in Physical Education. He then completed his Masters Degree in Physical Education at Northern Arizona University and is currently working on his Doctorate at Northcentral University.

Roth comes with thirteen years of head coaching experience as a High School Varsity Boy's Basketball Coach with stops at Phoenix Christian, Independence and Cactus Shadows with an overall career record of 199-137. In his 13 years, Roth has been named Regional Coach of the Year four times and in 1996; he was named the 1A-3A Basketball State of Arizona Coach of the Year by The Arizona Republic as his team played in the State Finals. Coach Roth also has a passion for teaching excellence, having been named in Who's Who Among American Teachers in 1995, 1998, 2004, and 2007.

Rick has been married for 18 years to his wife Beth and they have two children, Courtney 15 and Brenna 13.

Entering his four year, Roth's main focus is teaching his players to win God's way. This is characterized by Wes Neal's definition of winning, “Winning is totally releasing all that you are toward becoming like Jesus Christ in each situation.”

Coach Roth summarizes his passion for coaching by saying, “I love watching my players grow throughout the season. My passion is to use the great game of basketball to teach lifelong skills.”

Marshall Tague- Marshall Tague is in his fourth year as Assistant Coach at Southwestern College. He attended Valley Christian High School in Chandler, Arizona. Coach Tague attended Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, Arizona. He played one year of basketball and earned an A.A. in General Studies. He then attended Southwestern College, where he played three years of basketball, received regional and national honors, and earned a B. A. in Secondary Education. Marshall is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.

Coach Tague has a passion for serving God’s kingdom by reaching kids on the basketball floor. He believes in creating an environment for his players to develop skills, fundamentals, and discipline on the court but more importantly relating those characteristics to their personal lives.

Marshall is one the founding partners in Hoop Dreams Basketball School, which works with young athletes in developing the fundamental skills of basketball.

Southwestern College is honored to have one of its alumni on the court with the team.
