The Associate of Arts Degree is a two-year degree designed for the student who desires to take the first two years of college in the context of a Christian world view. The program lays a biblical foundation upon which to build the remainder of an education, acquire a basic knowledge in Bible and theology, and then transfer to another college or university where the student can major in an area not offered by Southwestern.

Associate of Arts Program Objectives
The student who completes the Associate of Arts Degree will be able to:

  1. Organize and communicate thoughts clearly, and correctly through writing and speaking skills.
  2. Demonstrate a foundational knowledge of the Scriptures and of theological issues.
  3. Acquire knowledge of basic principles in modern science that are common to scientific inquiry and research.
  4. Explain the sources of health and disease in both personal hygiene and community living.
  5. Function effectively as a lay person in a local church or Christian ministry.
