What can I do with a major in Education?
Elementary Education prepares an individual to be certified by the State of Arizona in Kindergarten – 8th grade. This major requires in addition to the Elementary Education coursework a minor in one of a variety of content areas:

• Communications (English, Language, Speech, Drama, etc)
• Social Studies (History, Social Studies, Geography, etc)
• Special Education (Cross Category Endorsement)
• Teaching English Language Learners(English Language Learners Endorsement)

Secondary Education prepares an individual to be certified by the State of Arizona in 7th – 12th grades. This major requires in addition to the Secondary Education coursework a twenty-four credit hour major in one of the following content areas:

• English
• English/Communications
• English/Drama
• Business
• Mathematics
• History/Social Studies
