A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Dennis Proffitt received his doctorate in Finance from St. Louis University in 1984. He was a faculty member at Utah State University and Grand Canyon University, where he is a former Dean of the College of Business. Dr. Proffitt also served as CFO and Director of Business Affairs at Missouri Baptist College in St. Louis. He is the author of two books and more than two dozen research papers in finance which have been published or presented at various professional meetings. Dr. Proffitt has taught at universities in Hungary, Russia, Taiwan, England, and the People's Republic of China, and has been listed in Who's Who in Finance and Industry and America's Best Teachers. Dr. Proffitt is the former Chairman of the Christian Business Faculty Association, and served on that organization's Board of Directors for three years. He is married with two children and one grandchild, and currently resides in north Phoenix, close to the Southwestern College campus.
